Galina Strutinskaia Is in One Step From the Victory in the RSSU Women’s Veteran Cup

Two days to the end of the International RSSU Cup, 2017 Moscow Open the struggle in the main tournaments of the festival is becoming sharper and sharper. However, multiple World Champion of the veteran competitions Galina Strutinskaia shows impressive superiority in one of the tournaments – the competition of female veterans. The chess player from Moscow scored 6,5 points in 7 rounds and is far ahead of her main rivals – Elena Fatalitbekova and Elena Krasenkova (both from Moscow) with 5 points. 

The player from the Crimea Oksana Gritsayeva continues her triumphant march in the RSSU Women’s Cup of Russia tournament. Today she won for the seventh time in a row, this time over Ukrainian player Iulija Osmak. Alina Kashlinskaya (Moscow) and Olga Babiy (Ukraine) with 6 points are chasing the leader. They are just one point behind. Alisa Galliamova (Kazan), Anastasia Bodnaruk (St. Petersburg), Irina Drogovoz (Khanty-Mansiysk) and Margarita Schepetkova (Vladimir) scored 5,5 points.

There are four leaders in the Men’s Cup of Russia tournament: Boris Grachev and Dmitry Gordievsky (both from Moscow), Vladislav Artemiev (Kazan) and Saveliy Golubov (Moscow region) with 6 points. The leading group is chased by eight players. This round Gordievsky played in a draw with Artemiev, Grachev shared points with Ivan Rozum (Vologda) and Golubov won over Alexandr Predke (Togliatti).

Four chess players also top the RSSU Men’s Veteran Cup. Evgeni Vasiukov (Moscow), Evgeny Sveshnikov (Chelyabinsk), Evgeni Dragomarezkij (Moscow) and Amanmurad Kakageldyev (Turkmenia) scored 6 points and are sharing the leadership.

Evgenij Shuvalov (Moscow), Artem Tabaryan (Abkhasia) and Sergey Tunik (Kemerov region) are sharing the first place in the RSSU Amateur Chess Cup. All three of them scored 6,5 points. Seven chess players with 6 points are trying to catch up the leaders.

The next to last, eighth round of the competitions will be played Saturday, February 4.
