Four Participants of the Moscow Open Cup of Russia Tournaments Keep a Perfect Result

Time of the decisive battles in the competitions of the XIII International RSSU Chess Cup, 2017 Moscow Open is approaching. Four chess players managed to pass the major part of the distance – five rounds – without any losses in the Cup of Russia tournaments.

The Muscovites Boris Grachev and Dmitry Gordievsky with 5 points are sharing the first place in the Men’s tournament. This time Grachev won over Ramil Faizrakhmatov (Kazan), Gordievsky was stronger than young Semen Lomasov (Moscow).

Vladislav Artemiev (Kazan), Ivan Rozum (Vologda) and Valery Sviridov (Seversk) with half a point less are behind the leaders. 14 players scored 4 points.

Oksana Gritsayeva (Crimea) and Olga Babiy (Ukraine) with five victories grasped the leading positions in the Women’s tournament. Both managed to beat their opponents in the games of this round – over Polina Shuvalova (Moscow) and Baira Kovanova (Saratov) respectively.

Titled Alisa Galliamova (Kazan) with 4,5 points occupies the third line of the table. Nine female chess players scored 4 points.

There are four leaders in the Veterans’ Tournament: Evgeny Sveshnikov (Chelyabinsk), Evgeni Vasiukov (Moscow), Evgenij Kalegin (Ufa) and Amanmurad Kakageldyev (Turkmenia). All of them scored 4,5 points.

Galina Strutinskaia (Moscow) extended her lead from rivals in the Women’s Veteran Tournament. She scored her fifth point in the fifth round by defeating Ludmila Saunina (Ekaterinburg). Now she has a one-point advantage over her closest rivals – Elena Krasenkova and Larisa Khropova from Moscow.

Artem Tabaryan (Abkhasia) and Evgenij Shuvalov (Moscow) with 5 points are sharing the first place in the RSSU Amateur Cup. 13 players are half a step behind the leaders.

The sixth round of the competitions will be played Thursday, February 2.
